I’m not a professional comic book artist, writer, or blogger. I’m a bookkeeper. I am self employed and I work from home. I’ve worked really hard on my business and I want to make it the best bookkeeping business I can. I’ve gotten it to a point where it supports me on my own terms, which is great. However I’m by no means raking in the dough, at least not yet. I’ve always been pretty entrepreneurial and have had some costly failures. I’ve slowly but surely been bringing myself back on track. So that’s my story and that’s what I do. And it’s a very boring profession. I can’t tell you how many bank and credit card statements I’ve reconciled by now. Probably in the thousands.
For a long time I’ve been wishing I could subscribe to Adobe’s creative cloud rather than Microsoft’s office 365. So I decided to subscribe to Adobe anyway, even if I’m not using their apps as often as my boring bookkeeping apps. And since then I’ve taken on making comics and doing some digital art. I’ve also really picked up my coding skills. I’ve been trying to learn to code for over 2 years now on my spare time. It’s been really hard to understand it but around the same time my creative juices started flowing from doing digital art on Photoshop, my coding skills dramatically improved! That’s not to say the two years of taking classes, online tutorials, and reading books made no difference because it did. But somehow I “got” coding after I started digitally drawing. So I’m really excited to get into all these ventures. I love drawing, coding, business, politics, and I especially love comics, horror, dark comedies, and story telling. So that’s what I’m going to do here. I’m not going to try to be something else. I’m a pretty political person. I’m pretty progressive, however I think I have a unique perspective on things. I used to be a hardcore democrat, then when I learned how things work I became a hardcore republican, I even voted for George W Bush! Then, I learned how things really worked and decided both political parties were terrible and full of shit. So some of my comics that I publish here are going to be very political. One of my all time favorite comics is George Carlin, and I share his view that we as a society are hopeless. (But understand that because I get that, I am free!) You’re going to notice I take a lot of inspiration from things around me. I’m going to steal from everything around me, however I’m presenting it here as political satire and parody which is legally permitted by the First Amendment to freedom of speech.
But I do have reservations about having to disclaim that. Although I love this country and there’s no other place I’d rather be, there is a choke that’s placed on society. We can’t do anything without some fucking patent troll trying to extort you for money! Disney owns all your favorite characters and your childhood. Try telling a story about Mickey Mouse, a character that was invented over 75 years ago by someone who’s been dead before you were born, and you’ll be slapped with a lawsuit by Disney! Same thing with all your favorite comics, cartoons, and fairy tale characters! It MAYBE wouldn’t be so bad if they made any good movies out those characters. Have you seen their movies in the last 50 years? Overall I think it’s a bunch of shit! Marvel superheros are shit, Disney movies are all shit, the Disney Channel is shit, Disneyland is shit, Disneyworld is Shit, The Avengers is shit, most movies, music, and books that get published today are all shit. Plus we have to see all those banners and advertisements everywhere we go. The point I’m trying to make is our system has stifled creativity. We can’t create without getting into trouble plus we don’t have infrastructure setup to help us create. Our internet is shit compared to the rest of the world. We have more prisons than universities and most of those universities are charging us $100’s of thousands for degrees that are shit. But of course, you all know this but what you get is that it’s all hopeless. But the biggest irony is that our country is the way it is because of us. Because we are all hopeless. Yes even you. You’re hopeless because you think that that’s just the way life is. You’re hopeless because you think that’s the way democrats are, or that’s the way republicans are. There’s only one way to break free and that’s when you get that it was all made up. Most of you probably understand what i’m saying, but most of you won’t get it! Everything is made up, or more accurately, CREATED. And it was created by people no smarter than you. It was probably created by people who have been dead for hundreds or thousands of years now. But because we’re hopeless, we think it’s the truth or how it is. It’s all made up; Money, marriage, politics, religion, race, math, numbers, science, social studies, homosexuality, heterosexuality, morality, values, language, love, drama, hatred. But just because it was made up doesn’t mean it’s not real. Quite the contrary, it’s real because it was made up! So, if you got what I said you’ll get this, it’s all pointless, empty, and meaningless! Not just for me, but for you too. So now, since we got that out of the way we can be free to enjoy the show. And just like George Carlin, I hope I can find where your line is and deliberately cross it and make you glad you came! This place isn’t here to change the world, that will never happen! This is for entertainment purposes only. If I do my job right, you’ll be left entertained and feeling a little bit disturbed! So, on with the show!
